Expert
Systems
I have been working with the design of Expert Systems
since 1990.
A practical result of this work was the development of a tool
for realizing expert systems. It's name in portuguese is FACSE
"Ferramenta de Apoio à Concepção de
Sistemas Especialistas".
You can obtain more information about FACSE by following the link
below (in portuguese).

Distance
Learning
I am interested in using computer techniques and tools aiming to
facilitate the elaboration and deployment of distance courses. I
think these techniques and tools could help in two directions:
allowing the realization of courses totally at distance or merely
helping the communication between participants in classical
courses.
Relating the second issue above, I have been trying some
experiences using the Internet in my post-graduate courses. Digital Library
course held first semester 1997. That experience showed us the potential of the
Internet as a tool to foster the communication between teacher and
students and between students themselves.
